I never understood the fascination with drones—until I received my first one over the holidays. It was a small green quadcopter that looked more like a toy you’d pull out of a McDonald’s Happy Meal. I wasn’t too excited, but the second I turned it on, I was hooked. If you didn’t get a drone for the holidays, buy one for yourself. This Metakoo Bee Mini Quadcopter is on sale for $28.

You can fly these drones indoors and out. My friend tried flying a DJI Mavic Pro—highly recommend these drones, too—inside and put a hole in his wall. The mini drones, like the one on sale, won’t do nearly as much damage. Plus: they come with four extra propeller blades, just, uh, in case.

While the flying time only lasts for 5-10 minutes, the internal battery charges quickly. The drone comes with an altitude hold function, which senses changes in air pressure. It’s also got three speed modes and a six-axis gyro to balance or stabilize the drone’s flight. And, yeah, it can do 360-degree flips.

Amazon; $28.
