Maybe I've just watched too much LOTR but wouldn't it be possible to generate enough electricity to power the world (plus a bunch of carbon reversers) using geo-thermal power.

I understand the technology isn't ready but couldn't we theoretically tap a volcano for unlimited power?

How can homeowners tap into this same resource for their homes? I'd love to have some efficient solar panels on my roof especially if it'll pay for itself over time.
